4.2.2009. WELCOME TRAINEES On the basis of the University Internship Programme at the Assembly, Executive Council and provincial administration bodies in the 2008/09 school year, six students and postgraduates have come to the Office for European Affairs to do an internship. Within the framework of the seminar “A Step Forward”, the Office for European Affairs has continued its work on the field and visited Žabalj Municipality, where the CBC IPA Programmes in the region were presented, which are the following: with Croatia, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary, and which are finance through EU IPA funds. Emphasis was placed on the programmes which would be available to institutions and organisations in the Bačka District. 
Like the previous year, the continuation of cooperation with the Swedish organisation ABF has been marked, on the basis of partnership among the Office for European Affairs, Provincial Secretariat for Labour Employment and Gender Equality and our partners from Sweden. 
At the invitation of the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) from Salzburg, the delegation of the Executive Council of Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, comprised of the representatives of the Office for European Affairs and Provincial Secretariat for Science and Technological Development, have participated in the Conference “Regional and Local Financing in Times of Crisis. Possibilities, Problems and Chances”, which IRE organised in Vienna, Austria. 
An informative seminar of the Office for European Affairs has been held in Ruma, within the framework of the informative campaign for Cross-border Cooperation (CBC) Programmes. Ruma Municipality is included in the Hungary-Serbia CBC Programme, as well as in the programmes which are about to start: Croatia - Serbia CBC Programme, Serbia – Bosnia and Herzegovina CBC Programme, South East Europe (SEE) Programme and Adriatic Programme with Italy. 
“Vojvodina is Serbia on the right road”, said Dr. Veselin Veličkov, President of the Municipal Assembly of Dimitrovgrad, and expressed his gratitude for the assistance the Office for European Affairs had offered to that region. 
An economic and political delegation of the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, headed by President Renzo Tondo, have paid an official visit to the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina at the invitation of the province.
